Domains

Context I have worked in, not the definition of what I do.

Domain knowledge is evidence. It shows that a way of working survived contact with real constraints — regulation, operational load, partners who cannot tolerate breakage. It is not the same as a specialisation, and I would rather be read for how I lead product and technology than for the industry I am currently in.

Each page below covers what the domain actually taught me, and separates what I observed from what I am inferring. The generalised versions of those lessons live in product.

What telecom teaches product leaders about operational products MVNO platforms are a hard school for product management: the operational floor never pauses, correctness is regulated, and every partner integration is a contract you cannot break quietly.
  • Telecom is a domain of evidence in my work, not the definition of it — the transferable lessons are about operational products, not about mobile networks.
  • In connectivity products the operational floor is permanent: provisioning, activation and billing correctness generate more requirements than any roadmap workshop.
